I was once an alcoholic and a drug dealer. I was a very wicked man. I can not remember not being drunk both during the day and at night. I was known as a very violent man in this town.

My wife was a Christian and started having prayer meetings in our house. When believers came, I was around, but I didn't show any interest in what they were doing.

As the believers prayed in my house, I came to understand they were praying that I would change--I heard them pray for me. The pastor used to talk to me about the Lord Jesus Christ and share the Gospel with me and tell me how I must be saved.

I would tell the pastor, "I do admit that what I am doing is wrong, but I am not able to stop." The pastor encouraged me to come to church and let the Lord help me. I had a huge debt at that time and so I told the pastor that if I go to church, I would be known as a Christian and I could be stopped on the way by my debtors. The pastor told me not to worry about that but to trust God to do a miracle in my life. He told me Jesus would love me and take care of me.

One night as I slept, I woke up with the feeling that someone hit me on the back. I thought perhaps a rat fell on me, but there wasn't any rat around. So I went back to sleep and the Lord spoke to me in a dream. He said, "Are you going to trust me only after all your debts are cleared?" I knew he was saying he wanted me to accept him and love him even though I was in a very difficult circumstance.

I got out of bed and spread a blanket on the floor. I knelt down and began to pray. My wife woke up and saw me praying, but she thought I was blabbering something in my drunkeness. After about 15 minutes she realized that I was indeed praying. So she came to me and asked, "How do you know how to pray?"

I told her, "You have been praying for me and I have heard you pray, and I know lots of people are praying for me, that is how I learned to pray!"

That very night I received Jesus Christ as my Savior and I decided to stop drinking and selling drugs. And I took all my cigarettes and I burned them.

From that day, I have been a new man. I go to church and I lead my family in morning and evening prayer. I am so happy that I decided to follow the Lord. My family has now become a very loving family.

And one important thing that has happened to me is my attitude toward money. I used to earn a lot from selling drugs and I used to think that was everything, but now I don't earn as much as I used to, but I know that the Lord is everything and money is nothing. And so I am very happy and content to live with what the Lord gives me.

I continue to walk with the Lord and love my family and my family loves me and I am enjoying my new life in the Lord Jesus Christ.
