I was born into a Muslim family. Just as Christians share their faith with others, I shared my faith. When I moved to a new town for a job, I met some Christians and I would argue with them about their beliefs.

One day I went to a friend's house and noticed he had a Christian magazine. I picked it up and and my eyes fell on this particular verse--Romans 12:19, "Do not take revenge...I will repay." That really struck me. So I borrowed the magazine and began to read it. The verse about revenge struck me because I was always taught that if anyone hurts us, we can tolerate it three times, but when they repeat the same thing for the fourth time, we can retaliate and take revenge. I was concerned about the spread of terrorism, therefore what the Bible said about revenge really appealed to me. So I bought a New Testament and began to read it.

When I read the Bible I became convicted of my sinful life. I used to be a slave to smoking and bad thoughts, and I would go to the mosque regularly, praying for deliverance from these sinful things.

For three days, I read the Bible intensely, and during that time, all my bad habits were forgotten. I did not even have the urge to smoke. At the end of the three days, I realized the cigarettes were still in my pocket and that I had forgotten to smoke. That was a miracle! I had thought the Bible was just a book and that Jesus was not God, but those three days completely changed my thinking and my behavior. I realized that indeed the Bible was God's Word and I could also believe that Jesus Christ must be God. From that day on, I have put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and I follow him as my God and Savior.
