Bhavana was haunted by thoughts of a malevolent Hindu goddess, even though she was a pious Hindu who performed all of the rituals a Hindu should perform. So disturbing were her thoughts that she could sleep only for short periods and only during the day. When the sun set and night began she became so restless and fearful that she could not sleep at all.
